I have uninstalled the newest version of the driver but when I try to install the driver you suggested from the acer website I got an error message: 'This computer does not meet the minimum requirements for installing the software'. Now, what should I do?

0It is not working IronFly, I still can not install the acer VGA driver after have installed the intel chipset. I got the same error warning. Is there any way to fix this problem?

one thing to try is to do a driver manual installation.
check on C:Intel (if any) about the .inf file for your VGA.
0After having tried to manually install the driver of version 4248, the process was stopped with message: 'The Best driver for your device is already installed' Windows has determined the driver software for your device is uptodate.
And It is still not working.

can you check on device manager which driver is installed?
brightness is still broke?
0Sometimes to downgrade a driver you need to
1) Uninstall the current driver
2) Select Delete when asked
3) Explicitly select the one you want to install from your download.
I can install manually the driver of version 4248 (downgrade) successfully but the device is still marked yellow. The sleep, hibernate and brightness controlls are still misssing.
I need more help.

Thank you ACE Pioneer, I have successfully manually installed the older driver IronFly suggested. But the problem is still as it was. Any other idea?

Sleep, hibernate not working..
try this
windows logo key + x
choose Command prompt (admin)
type
powercfg -h on
exit
reboot
then
windows logo key + x
power options
change plan settings
change advanced power settings
check under Battery - Critical battery action and low battery action if Hibernate is listed as action
on power options - Choose what the power button do - change settings that are currently not available - check if fast startup is ticked

i'm still thinking..i never had your model so it's a kind of guessing.
0I have tried to go to Service Center in my local area but they said, they want to try to find the solution but this computer has to be left about 1 week in the service center. Ofcourse I can not do that because every day I use this computer. Anyone know where to find the solution online?

Old thread, but I finally found the solution:
Go to Registry Editor (regedit.exe)
Go to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINESYSTEMControlSet001ControlClass{4d36e968-e325-11ce-bfc1-08002be10318}0000
Next, go find:
KMD_EnableBrightnesslf2
KMD_EnableBrightnessInterface2Set both to 0.
(If they aren't found, add them as DWORD)
Reboot.
ADDITIONAL STEP: In Device Manager, disable your video adapter and re-enable.
Retest your LCD brightness settings.Your Fn arrow keys for brightness may still not work (there is no solution for that on some Acers). But at least you can click the Battery icon in the tray and control your brightenss again.
