Yes I tried all the ports, I used the hard drive cable to connect my phone to the laptop and windows explorer detected my phone immediately.
I then plugged the hard drive in my work laptop which I normally do to exchange work docs and same thing, my laptop couldn't detect it.
The night prior to updating the software application, I used the hard drive to watch a movie via connecting it to my smart tv - no problems.
So I figured to wait when I can see a technician (if need be). The tv was able to detect the HD, but unfortunately it displayed 'no file'! Aaaaaargh, even the set up folders that were already stored in the HD when I purchased it has disappeared.

As I plug the HD into the port it still makes the sound of an external source being plugged in and can here it going through all the checks ie, disk drive etc, but windows explorer didn't automatically pop up like it normally does hence how I came across the issue.

I just ran the diagnostic tool and detected the HD with a PASS. Am very worried now as under CAPACITY it displays 1000gb meaning everything has been wiped. All my daughter's baby photos and home videos gone.
The HD worked fine prior to the upgrade :(:(:(:(
Please tell me you have more options to test?????
